ALENOR BF-FR reinforced butyl tape
ALENOR BF-FR is a façade butyl tape with aluminium foil and non-woven reinforcement. It is used in stick (mullion-transom) curtain wall systems – the tape goes under the pressure plate and seals the joints between glazing units, sandwich panels and other infill elements. It also seals laps of profiled roof and façade sheets.
The non-woven fabric makes the tape resistant to linear stretching – it does not tear or wind around self-tapping screws during installation, and the butyl compound self-seals punctures and cuts.
Composition
- Aluminium foil (metallic colour)
- Non-woven fabric reinforcement
- Grey permanent-tack butyl rubber compound
- Release liner

- Profiled sheet laps – roof and façade sheets.
How to install
- Profile and infill surfaces must be clean, dry and degreased.
- Apply the tape along the profile without stretching and press it with a pressure roller.
- Remove the liner, place the infill and fix the pressure plate – screws can be driven through the tape.
Frequently asked questions
How is BF-FR different from ordinary aluminium-butyl tape?
BF-FR is thinner and reinforced with non-woven fabric, so it does not stretch or tear under the pressure plate. For roofs and gutters, choose the BF multi-purpose butyl tape.
Are other widths available?
The standard width is 45 mm; other widths from 40 to 150 mm can be ordered – contact us.
