ALENOR SP dustproof adhesive tape for polycarbonate
ALENOR SP dustproof adhesive tape for polycarbonate is a solid (airtight) tape for sealing the ends of multiwall polycarbonate sheets. It closes the sheet channels so that dust, insects, rainwater and dirt cannot get inside. The sheet stays transparent longer, and no grey or greenish streaks form inside the channels, where they can no longer be washed out.
The tape is made of a synthetic non-woven material with a high-tack adhesive layer. It adheres well to polycarbonate, polypropylene, polystyrene, PVC, glass and steel and resists UV radiation, heat and temperature changes. It is thin, so after application the end can be covered with a U-shaped end profile.

Top end or bottom end?
ALENOR SP is airtight, so it is applied to the top ends of the sheet, where water, dust and insects must be kept out. Bottom ends use a perforated (breathable) tape so condensation can drain. In arched structures, where both ends are at the bottom, perforated tape is used on both ends.
Which width to choose
The tape must cover the whole sheet end and overlap both faces: 25 mm is usually chosen for 4–10 mm sheets, 38 mm for sheets of 16 mm and thicker.
Installation
- Peel back the sheet's protective film about 80–100 mm from the end.
- Clean and dry the sheet end – no dust, sawdust or moisture.
- Remove the release liner and apply the tape so it evenly covers both faces of the sheet.
- Press firmly along the whole length, ideally with a pressure roller.
- Cover the end with a U-shaped profile.
Frequently asked questions
Why do condensation and dirt build up inside polycarbonate sheets?
Usually because the sheet ends are not sealed or are sealed the wrong way. Read more in our article condensation and dirt inside polycarbonate sheets: how to seal the ends correctly.
Can I use ordinary adhesive or packing tape?
No. Ordinary tape is not made for outdoor use and UV radiation – it peels and crumbles and the channels are open again.
Can the tape be applied to an existing greenhouse?
Yes. Remove the end profile, clean and dry the ends, apply the tape and refit the profile.
